Thank you all for all the times you’ve lifted me at my lowest moments, for the support, the amazing hits and most especially, the LOVE.

Popular Nigerian street music singer, Adekunle Temitope, aka Small Doctor, has finally explained the circumstances that led to his arrest by the Nigerian police on Monday.

Speaking with Vanguard, the singer, who was released from police custody on Tuesday after much consultation said his issue with the police was a case of misunderstanding.

“It was a case of misunderstanding and everything had been settled. My fans need to know that I will not get involved in any illegality. The younger ones look to me for hope and I will never let them down”, he said.
The Penalty crooner insisted that he is licenced to own a gun, which is why he was shocked when he later read reports that he was in possession of illegal firearms.
“As I said earlier, I cannot be involved in any illegal activity. There is no way I will hold a firearm without having a licence.”
He, however, insisted that there was no way the incident would affect his concert scheduled to hold on Sunday, as adequate preparations have been made.

“My issue with the police is even a major reason for people to attend my Sunday show. There is no need to panic and we have invested heavily in the security of lives and properties,” he maintained.
The Penalty crooner, explaining why he settled for Agege Stadium in Lagos for his debut concert, stated, “I believe I am exceptional and people around me are exceptional too. I am a man of the people and I believe I should give back to my society.
They have been the one supporting me from the onset. I want them to feel important and happy. Eko Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, cannot even handle the crowd I want to entertain.”

Ever since news broke of Nigerian singer, Davido going for the one-year mandatory National Youth Service Corps program, Nigerians have steady followed the progress from his end.
It was only at the beginning of the program earlier this year, we got to see the singer participate in the program as he made sure to show it on his social media page.

Olu Maintain has debunked claims that his hit single Yahooze promoted internet fraud.
The veteran singer said he was not the one that began the trend, stressed that his 11-year-old song (yahooze) didn’t promote Internet fraud.
Olu Maintain added that his song was about an artiste that got a million dollar deal, and the video he shot for the song passed the message across clearly.
“When you create a body of art, people can misinterpret it the way they see fit. I mean, Yahooze is 11 years old and if you watch the video of the song, it was centered around an upcoming artiste that got a million dollar record deal.

That was the message I presented with the song. Does the music video in any way represent Internet fraud? The answer is no.
“I cannot be responsible for how people interpret a work of art. It is like a painting, a man would value a painting for millions of dollars but to the other man, it does not make sense. Art should be subjected to everyone’s interpretation. My interpretation of that form of art was made very obvious,” he said.

The veteran singer who further told Saturday Beats why it’s been difficult releasing another hit song that could rival.
Yahooze said:-
“It is a different generation and a different era with a different demography. As an artiste; as you grow, your core demography changes.
“Yahooze came out in an era when there was no social media. Today, people’s patience to digest any material is very short; 11 years ago, it was not like that. If you had a hit song, it could last for about two years but these days you are competing with so many bodies of work and it would take something special for you to have the same kind of buzz that a song like Yahooze had.”

Tiwa Savage , has stunned many of her fans after revealing that she sometimes feels depressed by low self-esteem. The Mavin queen, also revealed that she only looks beautiful by the help of make-ups and push-up bras. Stating that sometimes she is intimidated by the glamour on social media.
“I get a lot of messages from young girls who are depressed with low self-esteem because they don’t feel pretty like the social media girls they see every day and my heart breaks because I feel like that too sometimes.

“We are all in this together, I’m not perfect, and not the prettiest, sexiest, richest but I’ll remain kind and seek after God’s heart because none of the others matters to Him.
“Ultimately God’s approval is all we need”, she said. She added that contrary to public belief, she hardly sees herself as a pretty woman.
“Some people are born beautiful, flawless skin, long curly hair, fair skin but some of us grew up looking at the world’s definition of beauty and found ourselves not fitting into that standard but with the help of makeup, filters and push up bras we feel a little closer.
“What happens when you take all that off and you stare at yourself in the mirror, do you still think you are beautiful? “You should because you are and when we meet our creator face to face it’s those with the kindest hearts that will stand as most beautiful. “So while we work on the outside make sure we work on our hearts.”

While speaking in an interview with Africa’s Finest, a magazine by Guaranty Trust Bank, Nigerian rapper and actor, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz the Bahd Guy, said that Nigerians are frustrated with the problems faced by the country and are getting to their breaking point.
He said; “Everyone has a breaking point and I think Nigerians are getting to that point – we’re quite frustrated with the millions of problems we’ve been facing.
“So, now we want to see something different, we want to see a change which means that the perfect time to talk about it is now.”
While describing an apathy towards political issues among the youth, Falz who a University of Reading trained lawyer, said Nigerians can’t afford that mindset if they want the country’s development.
“There is a serious need to eradicate apathy, especially with the youth. When you talk about politics, a lot of young folks could care less but I feel that if we all want to see that Nigeria that we dream of, the one with a bright future, then we can’t afford to have that sort of mindset.
“People usually steer clear of these topics because they’re quite sensitive issues and they want to be careful. However, I feel it is important to talk about them because if we don’t, we’re just going to keep sweeping the dirt under the carpet.
“We need to talk about these things in order to let the culprits know that they’re actions are unacceptable and that there are consequences.”

Since Davido lost to Tiwa Savage at the just concluded MTV Europe Music Awards, (MTV EMAs), which recently held at Bilbao Exhibition Center, Bilbao, Spain, where the acclaimed African queen of pop music beat the ‘Assurance’ crooner alongside Fally Ipupa, Distruction Boyz, Shekinah, Nyashinski, to win the Best African Act award category, mixed reactions have continued trailing his big loss.

“Since Davido started rolling with Chioma, he stopped progressing”, the fan wrote on Instagram.
However, others refused to share the same sentiment with her as they disagreed with her opinion on the matter.
While some believe Chioma cannot be responsible for Davido’s loss, others believe it was just a streak of fate.
@yetzy wrote; “Ha! You can’t always have what you want. That one does not stop him from progressing.”
@queenb_beautypalace disagreed too; “People can be so mean, haba. For Davido to lose the award this time doesn’t make him a loser and it doesn’t mean he is not progressing, people with bad mouth.”
@patienceleo123 believed the statement was out of pure envy for Chioma.
“Because some people are angry with this Chioma that is why many people didn’t vote for Davido”, she wrote.
Meanwhile, both Davido and Chioma have kept mum as they have since refused to react or make any comment since the matter went viral on social media.

Nollywood actress, Ini Edo, has expressed concerns over the rate at which men of nowadays jump from one relationship to another for financial gains.
According to the Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Culture and Tourism, while young girls engage in one trade or the other for survival, some men move from one woman to the other for money. Hear her: “Men of these days are not what they used to be. But the issues are not addressed. Nobody is talking about it. That’s why Uche Jombo and I took that up and made it the theme of our new movie.

“Ironically, prostitution has reduced drastically. Young girls now go into different kinds of small-scale businesses like makeup, hair dressing and creams making. They now hustle more to make a living but I can’t say the same thing for men. I’m sorry but that’s the truth. For some men, their job is to move around from one woman to another for money. It’s like a full time job for them and nobody is addressing the issue. Don’t get me wrong, not all men do it, but some of them.”

When asked why she does more of production than acting these days, the dark skinned diva said: “I’m one of the first actors who started film production in Nigeria and also one of the first to take their movies to cinemas. If you can remember ‘I’ll Take My Chances’, I did it with Emem Isong. The movie gave birth to a new actor, Bryan Okwara. It’s my way of giving back to the industry. I had to tilt towards production of movies to effect the changes I had always wanted to see in the industry. I’m glad I was part of the huge changes we are experiencing now. Another film, ‘Knocking On Heavens Door’, I made sure we used new faces in it. That was how Adesua Etomi and Blossom Chukwujekwu came into acting.

“Aside that, If I am passionate about a story, I don’t mind the money being paid, I’ll go for the job. I’m not particular about money but the story or lessons behind the film.”
Meanwhile, the collaborative effort of Ini Edo and Uche Jombo, ‘Heaven On My Mind’ will hit cinemas across the nation on December 7, 2018. The highly anticipated movie, which began pre-production in late 2017 and finished filming in March 2018, is the first collaboration between the two talented actors as co-producers.
Speaking about the film, which is her directorial debut, Jombo said: “For me, directing this movie is a huge mark in my books and I really appreciate everyone who had faith in me. Heaven On My Mind will make a huge difference.” The movie features talented actors like Mercy Aigbe, Ray Emordi, Andrea Chika Chukwu, Femi Adebayo, Adunni Ade, Eric Ogbonna, Yvonne Nwosu and the co-producers themselves.

Contrary to popular belief that the day he was shot and almost killed by unknown gunmen was the saddest day of his entire life, popular afro-pop singer, Innocent Idibia, a.k.a ‘2Baba’, who is currently gearing up for the sixth edition of his Buckwylde and Breathless Concert, tagged ‘The Power of One’ has revealed in a chat with Showtime that the saddest day of his life was the day his father died.

“The saddest day of my life so far was when I lost my dad”, he said sadly.
Speaking on what to expect at his forthcoming concert which would be headlined by him, Falz, Phyno, Richard Mofe Damijo and many other surprise performers, he said;
“For me it’s going to be about entertainment and music. This year we have one message that we want to hammer on, which is the ‘Power of One’. But it’s still going to be about music, fun and real talks on serious matters.”

Finally, he spoke on what has driven his passion for continuously engaging in activities promoting good governance and better living conditions for the masses.
“My drive these past years is basically the passion to advocate what is right because a lot of things are not right in this country. It’s just very simple, I want to see things happen right, I want to see my benefit from the government; I want to see people proud to say that they are Nigerians. I want to travel out of Nigeria and feel the need to rush back because my country is a more conducive place to live in. I want to travel abroad and confidently brag about Nigeria because the economy, governance and ambience compete with that of other countries around the world.”
