Luka Jovicwore Real Madrid's kit for the first time in front of 4,500 supporters at the Santiago Bernabeuand in his first press conference, he stated that he would like to play in attack with Karim Benzema.
Last season, the 21-year-old caught the attention of many sides as he scored 17 goals in the Bundesliga for Eintracht Frankfurt, as well as 10 goals in the Europa League.
"He's one of the best [forwards] in the world and I hope to learn a lot from him," Jovic said about Benzema.
"I think we're compatible, but Zidane will decide."
It has been the Serbian's dream to sign for Los Blancos and he is delighted that it has finally become a reality.
"I'm the happiest guy in the world and I'm very happy to be at the biggest club in the world," noted Jovic.
"It's a pleasure to sign for this club and I'll give my all."
Rather than make predictions about his tally of goals next season, Jovic simply wants to show the Madrid fans what he can do.
"I won't say an exact number of goals," he responded when asked about his targets for 2019/20.
"I'll try to do my best and show what I can do.
"I have come to a club where I can learn a lot and I'll try to improve."
He is yet to speak with his new coach, Zinedine Zidane, but he is willing to play wherever he is needed.
"I have not spoken to him," said Jovic.
"I will play anywhere: alone [in attack], with another striker... I'm here to fight."
In terms of his idol growing up, the Serbia international singled out a former Madridplayer.
"It was Ronaldo [Nazario], and now I won't highlight anyone because they will all be my teammates," he added.
Barcelona had been linked with the attacker, but Jovic was coy when asked about the Blaugrana's interest in him.
"I was not aware of any other offer than Madrid," he stated.
"I spoke to my agent [Fali Ramadani], he told me about Madrid's offer and I accepted it quickly."
