ELECTION DAY: I'M NOT AWARE LOSING IN MY WARD – SANWO-OLU

Reacting to the reports of losing in his ward, APC Lagos State Governorship Candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said he was unaware of the report.

Sanwo-Olu, speaking to newsmen at his Ikoyi residence after he cast his vote, saying, “I am not aware of my polling booth result yet.I think you should find that out as media people. “But you can’t take it out, this is a neighborhood where people value their privacy, you can’t go knocking on their door. and moreso, this is not my election, it’s Presidential and House of Assembly.

It’s too premature to determine that he said According to reports Atiku secured 52 votes at the Femi Okunnu polling unit in Ikoyi, where Sanwo-Olu and his wife voted, Buhari got 48 votes. But the president secured victory at the polling unit where Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the APC, who backed the candidature of Sanwo-Olu, voted. While Buhari polled 121 votes there, his rival got 53 votes at unit 047, ward 3, Ikeja local government area, where Tinubu cast his ballot . Speaking with reporters after casting his ballot earlier, Tinubu said he would accept the result of the presidential election even if it did not go the way of his party. He said that the will of the electorate must be respected, adding that as a true democrat, free and fair elections must be protected. “If my party is voted out in this election, I will accept it because it is the people’s verdict, that is their decision. Any democrat that cannot accept a result from a free and fair election is not worthy of that name,” he said.

“As a true democrat, you must be able to accept the results of a free and fair election. My hope and determination of my party is that we are winning this election because we have the support of the masses and if you look at our rallies, it is an indication of our party’s popularity that we are the populace. “We are not talking about the elites or those that are rich, but the poor masses, farmers, traders, artisans and the common man who seek for continuity.”
