Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has denied being arrested for reportedly slapping a DANA AIR staff for ‘wasting his time’ at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, on Monday afternoon.
The actor in a phone call interview with PulseNG denied the story saying he only had a delayed flight and was escorted to the airport by two of his personal assistants and a police escort.
“I am surprised at this news. I am presently seating at the Dana Air office about to board my flight. I missed my flight and when I got to the airport, I wanted to try and see if I could make it because the plane hadn’t gone, they even tried speaking to the pilot but it was late. They had to put me on the next flight.
“My sister just called me to ask this same question because she said her old school friend called her and said she heard about my arrest. I have been at the airport for two hours. I don’t know why people will come up with stories like this,” he said.

According to reports, the feisty actor arrived the airport late for his 12:15 pm Abuja flight, and in a bid to hasten his boarding of the plane, the airline’s security personnel attempted to conduct a routine security check on him, which the thespian refused.
The insistence of the airline’s security personnel to search Jim Iyke reportedly infuriated the actor who initially pushed the security official before slapping the man for ‘wasting his time’.
A witness who saw the incident transpire said; “The actor was supposed to go on a 12:15 pm flight from Lagos to Abuja, but he came late.
“A Dana air staff, Suleiman, was doing a secondary check on him before he could board, but the actor got aggressive.”
The incident was confirmed by Kingsley Ezenwa, Dana Air’s Media and Communications Manager and Alabi Joseph, the Public Relations Officer, Airport Command who informed that the thespian was released after he tendered an apology.
